Family

Wallace Kaufman and his wife Nelli Uteyeva and their son Girey live on the slopes of Mt. Tom in Linn County, Oregon.  Nelli is an architect/designer trained in Kazakhstan and also consults on collections and exhibitions of Central Asian art. Girey is a primary school student. Wallace's daughter, Dr. Sylvan Ramsey Kaufman, is Conservation Curator at the Adkins Arboretum on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She has a Ph.D. in ecology from Rutgers and specializes in the study of invasive species. Nelli's daughter Ulyana and her husband Sergey and their infant daughter Maria joined the household on Mt. Tom in 2003. Ulyana is the manager of the family partnership, Signal Associates.
